This vegan "ham pie" conquered our whole family. I've baked it twice already and it always goes like hot stones. It is perfect for, for example, graduation parties or dinner parties.
For larger parties, I recommend at least doubling the recipe. When doubled, the pie can be prepared, for example, on a baking sheet.
Pie base and fillings
I use it as a pie crust this easy pie dough, which I talked about in the last post. For this pie, I recommend the very basic recipe, i.e. light, semi-coarse wheat flour.
Ham post is delivered Other Vege strips, which have both a ham-like taste and appearance. These seem to be a favorite of many, because you can find them in so many stores these days!

But the best thing about this pie is succulent tofu filling! Smoked tofu and spices are made into a smooth puree, which is incredibly delicious and tastes like meat in a wonderful way - you want to eat it straight from the bowl with a spoon. In addition, it resembles a traditional egg-milk filling. The traditional filling solidifies perfectly and it is easy to cut perfectly neat pieces from the pie.
Often the problem with vegan pies is that the filling doesn't seem to solidify enough. There is no such problem with this filling.

I got the idea for the filling from Marie Laforet's cookbook Vegan Beagle. The original recipe contained ingredients that cannot even be found in Finland, so I simplified the recipe and replaced the ingredients. But I think this is at least as good as the original!
Top with grated vegan cheese. For taste, I recommend one of the following:
- Porlam's Vege Plus
- Nurishh
- Ilo Pizzamuru

Work steps
The recipe has five easy steps:
- Prepare pie dough (or use ready-made).
- Puree the tofu filling ingredients.
- Place the pie dough in the pan.
- Add veggie strips, tofu filling and grated cheese.
- Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes.
Can you leave out the grated cheese?
If you want a lighter version or don't like cheese, it's not necessary to add grated cheese to this pie. I've also tested without, and it's good anyway!
The surface of the pie then looks a little different, because the grated cheese is not covering it:

Serving
Serve the pie warm. The pie itself looks quite simple, so if you want more color, you can decorate it like this before serving:
